A 37-bed hospital of hope — rising to 90, in the highlands of Kenya.
Eye surgery, safe childbirth, an operating theatre, and CT-grade radiology — for three counties of people who have never had transport to this level of care. Your gift gives hope, one person at a time.
Our Mission
Why hope matters
English
To minister the love of Christ in a tangible way by physically and spiritually reaching out to serve impoverished African families and individuals through community advancement, healthcare, and development programs.
Kiswahili
From 37 beds to 90 — the structure is already standing.
The steel structure and foundation for our expanded operating theatre and new wards are already complete. Every gift now goes toward finishing what is already rising out of the ground — doubling the lives Village of Hope can hold, heal, and send home.
What we offer
A real hospital — not a clinic
From a flagship eye program to an operating theatre and CT-grade radiology, Village of Hope brings care to a region that has gone without it.
Operating Theatre & Surgery
A working operating theatre — rare for a rural Kenyan facility — now being expanded so more lives can be saved without a referral.
24-Hour Emergency & Urgent Care
Located just off a major international highway, our 24-hour emergency team meets trauma and crisis the moment it arrives.
Primary & Preventative Health
People-centred primary care, screenings, and health education that address the majority of a person's health needs across their lifetime.
Pharmacy & Laboratory
On-site lab and pharmacy mean patients are diagnosed and treated in one visit — no costly hours of travel for a blood test.
Physiotherapy
Therapy and rehabilitation for patients from children to elders, restoring movement and independence.

Integrity you can verify — not just trust.
Hope Matters International is a registered 501(c)(3) in the USA (EIN 46-2372391), and operates in Kenya under the Public Benefit Organizations (PBO) Act — a framework of independent audits, certified accounts and public registration that replaced the historically loose NGO regime. Where many organisations ask for blind trust, we invite you to verify us.
- Registered, audited and accountable on two continents
- Every gift is restricted to the work you give it to
- Tax-deductible in the USA — receipts on every donation
The heartbeat
Real people. Real hope.
A few of the lives changed by donors like you.

Naomi & baby Mitchell
Osorongai · 8 km
A type-1 diabetic who had lost her firstborn at delivery, Naomi carried her second pregnancy through weekly visits with Michelle — and safely delivered a healthy baby girl.

Sarah Jebichii
Chebaiywa · 15 km
Sarah came afraid she was dying from a toxic goiter. Through HMI donors her thyroid was surgically removed — and she feels a million times better.

Livian Bakeri
Mautuma · 50 km
Born with Tetralogy of Fallot, Livian had a death sentence without open-heart surgery. Donors stepped forward and her life was saved.
“I see Village of Hope in the next 5 years becoming a referral hospital that is relied upon for specialized services.”
— Nixon Rono, Hospital Administrator
